| Hon. (Prince) Dapo Adeyemi was born at Jebba in the
present Kwara State on Thursday 15th June 1948. He started his primary
education at the then Local Authority Primary School, Wasinmi, Ogun
State in 1954 and finished at the the African Church Primary School,
Ebute-Metta in 1963. He attended Ahmadiyya (now Anwar' Islam) College,
Agege in January 1964 and graduated in December 1968 after obtaining the
West African School Certificate in Division II. He holds Certificate in
Auditing/Accounting Duties and another Certificate in Financial
Management (Specializing in Management Auditing).
Prince Adeyemi was at the Federal Audit Department from July 1969 to June 1976 from where he left for Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (Man O'War). He let Man O' War in 1982 as a Senior Executive Officer (Accounts). He attended various in-service trainings in Auditing and Accounting duties and, between 1997 and 1998, was a revenue collector for Ifo Local Government. He is presently engaged in contract services and manufacturing. On the political field, Prince Adeyemi has been actively involved in the politics of Ifo Local Government and Ogun State since 1982 when he left Public Service. He was the Auditor of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in the then Ifo/Ota Senatorial District from 1982-1983 and an ex-officio member of the Socialist Democratic Party (SDP) in Ifo Local Government during the aborted 3rd Republic. Prince Adeyemi was the General Coordinator of Segun Osoba Gubernatorial Campaign Organization (SOGCO) in the then Agbado ward when Chief Osoba ran for governor in 1990. He was also the Facilitator of the MKO Vanguard during the presidential election in 1992 when Basorun M.K.O. Abiola (May God bless his soul) ran for President. During the June 12 struggle, Prince Adeyemi was in the forefront in Ifo Local Government as the Secretary of Afenifere and the General Secretary of Movement for the Promotion of Democracy (MOPOD), Ogun State. He is presently a member of Ogun State Assembly where he chairs the Public Accounts Committee and is a member of five other committees. He also served as a member of the ad-hoc that investigated the activities of past military administrators in Ogun state. He has travelled widely in Europe, North America and Africa and enjoys sports, reading and socials. Prince Adeyemi is married with children. |
